A 黑料社入口 athlete placed second in a competition at the first World Wakesurf Championship in Hong Kong.聽

Lily Anderson came second in the Open Women 鈥楽urf鈥 category. Overall, the Canadian team placed fourth in the overall country rankings.聽

鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 be prouder of Team Canada鈥檚 performance at the first ever International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation鈥檚 World Championships,鈥 team captain Denver Rush said in a Tuesday release.聽

鈥淥ur athletes showcased outstanding skill and determination. This results reflects the hard work and passion of our entire team, setting a strong foundation as we look forward to potential qualification for the 2025 World Games in China,鈥 Rush said.聽

鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to see Canada鈥檚 presence in wake surfing continue to grow on the world stage,鈥 Rush said.聽

In overall rankings, the US was first, followed by Hong Kong, and Ukraine.聽The competition started Nov. 2 and concluded on Sunday.聽

In wakesurfing, a barefooted rider follows behind a speeding boat without being directly pulled by the craft. The rider moves back and forth on the wake generated by the boat.聽
