Peachland Watershed Protection Alliance is holding its annual general meeting Friday, Nov. 22 at the community centre in Peachland beginning at 7 p.m.
The guest speaker is Rheanne Korchinsky from UBCO, along with special guests.
鈥淎ll across B.C. and throughout our Peachland watershed, we鈥檙e grappling with an industry and a government that is pushing hard for drastically increased salvage logging in the wake of natural disturbances like wildfire and insect outbreaks,鈥 the alliance wrote in a Monday press release.
鈥淭hey believe saving a burnt tree for the mill is worth losing biodiversity, habitat for wildlife, in-creased mudslides, extreme droughts, massive floods and increased carbon emissions,鈥 it read.
All are welcomed. There will be baking and refreshments on hand as well as a chance to win prizes.
